Mike is a classically-trained, university-educated musician who was awarded first class honours in composition. Equally at home with a symphony orchestra or a jazz quartet, his music covers an enormously diverse range.

A Look You Gave
A romantic piece for string orchestra featuring a stunning viola solo and some beautifully sensitive string section playing.

The Devil's Jig
The soundtrack to the Sony PlayStation 3 advertising campaign in the UK in 2007. A 'Danse Macabre' featuring full symphony orchestra and choir, this piece is a mix of live instruments/voices and programming.

Bill of Mortallity
This is the final music cue from the film of the same name by Heather Dixon. It combines early Baroque music with more contemporary- sounding elements to create a compelling score.

Murder by Stealth
Originally a demo theme tune for Granada's "Miss Marple", this piece has a twinkle in the eye and a generally busy nature - just like the famous sleuth herself!

The Three Suns (Part 2)
Electronic music and orchestral instruments combine in this epic full- length piece. All instruments and programming by Mike Sheppard. Part 1 of the 'Three Suns' trilogy can be heard in the audio gallery page.

Saving Lives (end)
This is the last cue from the film 'Saving Lives'. Director Philip Walsh wanted a contemporary-sounding score with a combination of real instruments and electronica. He wanted tension and drama, but he also wanted space to let the story unfold.
